https://www.diabrowser.com/Dia, the AI-powered Chromium browser by The Browser Company (a subsidiary of Atlassian), targets knowledge workers buried under fragmented workplace apps. Our verdict: if your day runs through Slack, Gmail, Notion and Jira, the 14-day trial is worth taking seriously, because meeting prep and cross-app answers are where Dia earns its keep. If your work lives elsewhere, the free tier is a tidy Chromium browser with no AI, and that is not much of a reason to leave Chrome.
Workday Utility and Cross-Tool Synthesis
Dia acts as an active operating workspace rather than a conventional browser. Its Morning Brief summarizes daily calendars, inbox messages, and critical links before the workday starts. During calls, it automatically sets up meeting tab groups with shared agendas, related notes, and countdown timers. Through integrations with Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Notion, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, and Figma, its multi-model core (GPT, Claude, and Gemini) powers Live Groups that surface active pull requests and documents, letting users generate slide decks or reports directly from dispersed conversations.
Tired of juggling ten tabs? ToolSuite bundles the AI workflow tools power users rely on — in one place.
Try ToolSuite NowThe browser reached Windows with version 1.0 on 6 October 2026 and ships weekly updates, culminating in version 1.4.0 on 29 October 2026 (matching macOS version 1.55.0). Recent releases introduced Google Chat access and beta connectors for Ashby and Dropbox. We found no mention of standalone iPhone or Android apps on the site; the changelog only mentions opening iPhone tabs on a Mac through Handoff.
What it costs, and the Windows question
Dia meters usage in modular Tasks across three tiers:
| Plan | Price | What You Get |
|---|---|---|
| Better Browser | Free ($0) | Organized Chromium browsing with native ad blocking, but no AI features. |
| Better Answers | $10/month | Morning Brief, app connections, search, and document drafting via monthly Task allowance. |
| Better Days | $100/month | All Better Answers features plus 20x more asks for chats, tasks, reports, and decks. |
New users receive a 14-day free trial of Better Days without entering a credit card. Additional credits cost $20 per block and expire in three months. Unused usage and credits are non-refundable upon cancellation. Crucially, paid plans began rolling out to most new Mac users on 17 August, with existing Mac users receiving 30 days’ advance notice. Windows is the open question: the pricing FAQ says Dia on Windows “stays as it is for now” and that users will be told before anything changes. It does not say what limits apply there today, so do not assume they are unlimited.
Data Privacy and Security Architecture
Conversations, history, bookmarks, and files are encrypted locally, with end-to-end encrypted sync. Personal data is never sold, and model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) are contractually barred from training on your inputs. The Browser Company completed a SOC 2 Type II audit for 2025. However, content sharing to improve Dia is enabled by default (stored unlinked for 30 days unless disabled), Atlassian sign-in is mandatory, and the browser is not HIPAA compliant.
The Arabic Usability Test
The vendor does not state support for Arabic or right-to-left (RTL) text layouts. Since it is built on Chromium, ordinary Arabic web pages should display as they do in Chrome; the open question is how the AI features handle Arabic. Prospective Arabic-speaking users should run a quick five-minute trial:
- Prompt Response: Submit an Arabic request in chat to verify whether underlying models return coherent Arabic phrasing.
- RTL Alignment: Ask for a summary of an Arabic webpage to confirm right-to-left alignment renders without flipped punctuation.
- Mixed Search: Enter Arabic text paired with English Jira keys into the Command Bar to check bidirectional text handling.
Target Audience and Who Should Skip
Dia is ideal for product managers, engineers, and knowledge workers heavily embedded in Google Workspace, Atlassian, and Slack. Conversely, healthcare organizations must skip Dia because it lacks HIPAA compliance and Business Associate Agreements. Teams that need an Arabic interface or legacy Manifest V2 extensions should also pass.
