The Arabic Script Risk: Dot Hallucination and Untested Translation

The tool page explicitly warns that AI can change or invent characters and that unreadable text cannot be reliably recovered, citing examples strictly from Latin letters and digits. Arabic script is uniquely vulnerable because letter meanings depend fundamentally on dots and diacritics. A generative model can easily blur, displace, or invent the dots that separate ba, ta and tha, confuse noon and yaa, or alter delicate hamzas, corrupting names, dates, or financial sums on official documents.

Before relying on the tool, run a concrete verification test: photograph an Arabic receipt or printed page, process it through Unblur Text, and inspect dots and hamzas letter by letter against the original. Additionally, while the AI Image Editor includes a prompt translation feature giving paid members 20 translations daily into English, we have not tested whether Arabic instructions survive that step.

Verdict

Worth a free try on a product shot or a faded family photo, and the acceptable use policy explicitly bans face-swaps and deepfakes of real people, which we like. But with no named company behind it and files kept until someone deletes them by hand, keep identity documents and sensitive family pictures off it until the operator says who they are.
