https://klap.app/Verdict: Klap is built for podcasters, educators, interviewers and anyone else whose videos are mostly people talking, and who wants a steady stream of vertical clips for TikTok, Reels and YouTube Shorts without editing them by hand. The catch comes early: the free trial covers one video, which you can preview and edit, but downloading or posting clips needs a paid plan. Treat it as an evaluation, not a free tier.
Speech-first clipping, built for volume
You upload a file or paste a YouTube link, and Klap picks out the most interesting topics and cuts them into short clips with animated captions. The company says its algorithm “relies heavily on speech detection”, which is why it recommends podcasts, interviews, educational videos, product reviews and trainings over montage-style footage. Its rule of thumb is that one minute of video produces about five clips; the FAQ gives the example of a three-minute YouTube video turned into five ready-to-post shorts. Klap also claims 8.5M clips made by 3.5M creators, a vendor figure we have not verified.

The newest feature, AI Reframe 2, analyses each scene and applies a layout such as Split Screen, Screencast or Gaming, while auto reframing uses facial recognition to keep the speaker in frame. Every clip gets a score for its viral potential plus a suggested post caption. The score is useful for ranking clips, not a promise of reach. You can then post or schedule directly to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn, connect Zapier, Make or n8n, and apply your own fonts, colours, logo and framing.
The Arabic angle: test before you pay
Klap’s FAQ lists Arabic among 52 languages it can edit and transcribe, alongside Persian, Urdu, Hebrew and Turkish. Its API page, however, talks about captions in “over 100 languages”, and the site doesn’t explain the gap. More important for Arabic-speaking creators, it says nothing about dialects, right-to-left caption rendering or Arabic fonts.
Since the free video is your only look at the output, use it as a real test. Upload a one-minute clip in Egyptian or Gulf Arabic with some English words mixed in, then check the preview for:
- Direction: captions run right to left with letters properly joined.
- Mixed script: punctuation and English words stay in place instead of jumping to the wrong end of the line.
- Timing: highlighted words match what is actually being said.
- Cut points: clips end where an Arabic sentence ends, not halfway through a thought.
Pricing: paid per clip, in US dollars
The pricing page’s pitch is “Only pay for clips you generate.” Plans are priced in USD and no regional pricing is shown. As listed in October 2026:
| Plan | Clips per month | Billed yearly | Month to month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | 100 | $14/mo | $29/mo |
| Pro | 300 | $39/mo | $79/mo |
| Pro+ | 1,000 | $94/mo | $189/mo |
Every plan includes AI clipping, unlimited social accounts and analytics, and paid exports carry no Klap branding. The terms let monthly subscribers ask for a refund before the end of their first month, or recover up to the last three consecutive months in which they didn’t use the service. Yearly plans are fully refundable only in the first month; after that, refunds cover at most three fully elapsed zero-usage months, at 1/12 of the annual price each.
For developers: REST API and MCP server
The REST API generates shorts, adds captions, reframes video and returns word-level timed transcripts. It is billed by usage: $0.32 per generate-short operation, $0.44 per video input and $0.48 per export. There is also an MCP server with 18 tools that plugs into Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Claude and ChatGPT. You sign in with your Klap account instead of using an API key, and usage comes out of your plan. One of the tools, translate_clip, copies a clip with its captions into another language. Sources can be YouTube, Twitch, Kick or Vimeo links, Google Drive and Dropbox files, or local files up to 10 GB. Klap is operated by ZIGG SAS, with support on Discord and live chat.
Should you use it?
If you publish talk-driven video every day across several platforms, Klap removes a lot of manual cutting, and per-clip pricing makes costs easy to predict. For Arabic content, though, support is a line in a language list until your own test proves otherwise. Before subscribing, compare it with Opus Clip and Vizard for long-to-short clipping, and with Submagic if animated captions are your main need.
